The following provisions apply specifically to purchases of 911 address identification signs that include property installation by Local 4633 or its authorized representatives.
These installation provisions do not automatically apply to unrelated merchandise, donations, events, or other Association transactions.
911 address identification signs are intended to provide supplemental property identification, particularly for oceanfront properties where conventional street-facing address markers may not be visible from the beach.
The signs may assist emergency responders, residents, visitors, and others in locating a property or identifying a nearby access point.
These signs do not replace legally required address displays or official property addressing systems.
The Association does not guarantee improved emergency response times, successful identification during every emergency, or any specific emergency response outcome.
By purchasing an address sign with installation services and accepting these Terms, the Customer expressly certifies and agrees that:
The Customer is the legal owner of the property identified in the order or an authorized property manager or representative possessing sufficient legal authority to approve the proposed installation.
The Customer has the authority to permit access to the specified installation area and authorize the attachment of the sign to the proposed structure.
Where the property, beach access, walkway, railing, fence, or other installation structure is owned or controlled by a homeowners association, condominium association, another property owner, or a third party, all necessary permissions have been obtained.
The Customer expressly authorizes Local 4633, its members, volunteers, contractors, and designated representatives to enter the exterior portions of the property, including its private beach access and walkway, solely for purposes reasonably necessary to deliver, position, and install the purchased 911 address sign.
The Customer authorizes the use of reasonable installation tools, mounting hardware, screws, fasteners, and other methods appropriate to the approved mounting surface.
The Customer understands that installation may involve drilling or other minor physical modifications to the approved structure.
The Customer will promptly disclose any property access restrictions, association regulations, structural concerns, or other conditions that could affect installation.
The Customer agrees to promptly notify Local 4633 if the Customer's authority to approve installation or grant property access changes before installation is completed.
This authorization constitutes express permission for the limited property access and installation activities described above.
It does not create an easement, establish a public right of access, authorize entry into an occupied residence, or grant unrestricted or permanent access to private property.
Local 4633 may request additional verification of the Customer's authority before beginning work.
The Customer may revoke authorization before installation by notifying the Association. Any resulting cancellation or refund will be handled under Section 7, and revocation does not undo work already lawfully performed.
Address signs are generally intended for placement on the beach-facing side of an oceanfront property, including suitable existing private beach access structures.
Installation locations must be reasonably accessible, structurally suitable, and consistent with any applicable property restrictions and governmental requirements.
The Association reserves the right to decline a proposed location and recommend a reasonable alternative.
If a suitable alternative cannot be agreed upon, installation may be canceled and the applicable refund provisions will apply.
Oceanfront properties may be subject to additional regulations, including the North Carolina Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA), local ordinances, development restrictions, and homeowners association rules.
Installation will proceed only where any required approvals, permits, exemptions, and third-party authorizations have been addressed.
The Customer is responsible for disclosing known property-specific restrictions and securing any necessary private-party authorizations.
The Association will make reasonable efforts to identify governmental requirements applicable to the work it performs and will not knowingly proceed with prohibited installation activities.
No installation is authorized to alter or damage protected dunes, vegetation, or environmentally sensitive areas in violation of applicable requirements.
Installation must not interfere with lawful public access, emergency vehicle access, or required access and egress routes.
The Customer agrees to provide reasonable and safe access to the approved installation location.
The Association may postpone or decline installation due to:
Unsafe or inaccessible structures.
Locked or restricted access.
Severe weather, flooding, erosion, or hazardous beach conditions.
Unverified property authorization.
Regulatory or association restrictions.
Any other condition creating an unreasonable safety or legal concern.
The Customer's physical presence is not required for installation unless specifically requested or agreed upon.
Following installation, the property owner or authorized property representative assumes responsibility for reasonable ongoing inspection and maintenance of the sign and mounting structure.
Coastal conditions, including saltwater exposure, wind, sand, severe storms, flooding, and erosion, may affect the durability or appearance of signs and mounting hardware.
The Association does not guarantee a specific service life or provide ongoing maintenance unless expressly offered through a separate written agreement.
Customers should promptly report apparent manufacturing defects or installation problems.
The Association will address defects or installation errors for which it is legally responsible. Damage caused solely by weather, vandalism, unauthorized modification, structural deterioration, or ordinary wear is not automatically eligible for free replacement.
The Association may maintain reasonable installation records, including the purchaser's authorization, property address, installation date, and photographs of the sign and immediate mounting area.
Such documentation may be used to verify completed work, resolve installation questions, maintain Association records, and address service concerns.
Photographs collected for installation records will not be used for unrelated promotional purposes without any required permission.
